For some, "Putting People First" might just seem like a catchy campaign phrase, but it’s been my underlying principle as a City Councilor and will continue to be as your next Mayor.

Election Day, Tuesday, November 3rd, is our opportunity to bring in a new style of leadership that’s been missing from City Hall, a genuine leadership style that is one of inclusiveness, responsiveness and accountability. It’s the next step in promoting a new vision and fresh leadership for our great city. It’s also our opportunity to reinvigorate our community spirit; to truly move Brockton into the 21st Century; and to make sure that our Mayor works for YOU!

There’s no question that these are tough times, but as a City Councilor for the past 12 years, I have a record of making tough decisions in collaboration with city residents.

As the next Mayor of Brockton, I will seek input from every segment of the city so that decisions aren't made in a vacuum. I will have a truly open door policy and I'll take your phone calls. I'll also be an active participant in community events so that Brocktonians are aware of the job I am doing and can be part of the process.

This campaign is not only my campaign; it's our campaign. It's a campaign that will bring transparency and confidence back to City Hall. I believe in Putting People First, and - together, with you - I will work to make the City of Champions a city we can all be proud to call home.

Plan the work. Work the plan.
I have developed a "Blueprint for Brockton" detailing five main areas of concern that I will act upon when taking office as mayor.

1. Sustaining and improving fiscal solvency.
2. Stabilizing neighborhoods impacted by foreclosures and public safety issues.
3. Reinvigorating community spirit and engaging citizenry.
4. Strengthening economic development.
5. Ensuring children thrive.

Communication is the key.
We will focus on creating opportunities to build community spirit and community connections, with an emphasis on collaboration and accountability.  I will actively seek new members of city boards and commissions and solicit residents’ input on city programs and initiatives, introduce summer concerts for families and maintain direct communication with residents through regular news updates and utilization of the city’s website as a clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities.
